Principal Lawyer
Rachel advocates for better services, laws, resources and policies for older adults, women, and improved diversity and inclusion initiatives within the legal profession and beyond. She cares deeply about her clients and upholding their rights.
You might catch Rachel speaking to lawyers about networking, leadership, diversity and
barriers facing women and internationally- trained lawyers, or speaking with community members through her Seniors, Ask Me Anything sessions, both online and to various seniors groups in person. She looks forward to increased
in-person engagement in 2025.

Rachel A. Sachs
Rachel A. Sachs is a Filipino-German Canadian lawyer striving to improve accessibility to the law for her clients. Rachel’s pronouns are she/her. Rachel runs her own practice, serving older and aging adults, their families and individuals.
Rachel intentionally designed her practice for older adults, in memory of her much loved grandparents and as a way to honour the many, wonderful older adults who have impacted and influenced Rachel’s life.
In her teenage years, Rachel volunteered in the Veteran’s Wing of Sunnybrook & Women’s College Health Sciences Centre. Later, when she returned home from university, Rachel would regularly join her father and grandmother for early morning coffees with other local seniors, listening to their stories and arguing politics. Later, Rachel experienced first-hand the struggles of caring for and living with an older adult with dementia when her grandmother sadly succumbed to the disease.
Rachel was fortunate to engage in post-secondary studies both in Canada and abroad. In addition to her law and undergraduate degrees, Rachel holds a Masters degree from the University of Edinburgh School of Business and obtained her Executive MBA from Quantic School of Technology in 2022, which Rachel hopes to use to help improve her services for her clients.
Prior to realizing her passion for working with aging adults and the law, Rachel worked with charities and not-for-profits, major financial institutions, and small businesses in areas ranging from energy and environmentalism to real-estate and anti-money laundering.
Rachel enjoys volunteer work and early on in her legal career she worked with the Free Wills Network until its closure, the Canadian Bar Association and Ontario Bar Association (including as a Past Chair of the Ontario Bar Association), the Barbra Schlifer Commemorative Clinic and the Refugee Sponsorship Support Program. Rachel actively mentors others through various organizations, including the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers and the Global Lawyers of Canada.
In addition to running her small private practice and spending quality time with her young family, Rachel is President and a founding director of the Filipino Canadian Lawyers Network (FCLN-RAPC) and sits on the following other not-for-profit boards:
